Kit

Well since we are carrying everything we need for 4 days ...food, water, clothing sleeping bag etc etc.
Weight is going to be a huge issue. So we are reviewing all our kit and will be starting to replace some of the heavy stuff with very lightweight kit. IE stainless cookware for titanium ones etc, the Same goes for other kit we have..... well as much as we can afford. But remember this is for a good cause so please dig deep and sponser us.

  1. Compile a kit list of what your taking and I'll see if I can help you with info to shed weight - that said 4 days isnt so bad kit wise, you'll not need loads of clothing, you can share a tent/shelter, so its only sleeping bag and mat each - maybe a change of underwear, spare socks and a extra/evening warm top. Cookware share a big pot - take a mug each, share the stove and fuel, food - going for dehydrated will be counter productive as you'll need more water - go for wet meals too - soups and stews as these contain more water. Boiled sweets and kendal mint cake are good - infact I have a load of mint cake if you want it!

Wish I was coming with you now

  2. When I did the Coast to Coast Walk, I used the MSR Titan Kettle. Cooking with savory rice c/w tuna or chicken. It worked for me and is called one pot cooking.
